Artist Statement
My recent works are of images that somehow touch my soul: times when the beauty that surrounds me sings out and I am reminded of miracles. It is often little things...the sparkle of water, the sound of waves, the graceful silence of wildlife; things that help to remind me what a great miracle life really is. And I feel blessed to be a part of it
My painting style lies somewhere between impressionism and realism. My images need no explanations though it is my hope that they spark memories;that viewers say, "I think I've been there," or "I think I've seen that." And that they, too feel blessed.
I live with my husband and two daughters on 40 acres of game refuge bordering the Mississippi River, not far from Bemidji. I work out of my home studio and have been teaching art at a neighboring school district since 1995.
